SETUP:

This stop-action photo of a single drop of liquid dropping and splashing into a tiny glass of wine required using two medium sized soft lights were used, the first was under the glass backdrop and the other overhead. Black sand was sprinkled on the glass surface and I vibrated the glass to make the sand disbursed in various patterns. A laser trigger beam tripper was aligned over the top of the small wine glass and a delay module was used to delay the trigger signal long enough for the drop of liquid to begin to enter the the liquid. An electronic cable release was then used to trip the shutter. Far less delay was used for this shot compared to the blue water drop as this drop is just entering the liquid and with the blue drop the liquid has entered and reemerged to form the drop.
