Concrete Canyons

A very close friend sits at my side,
Knows no evil nor the turning of tides.
He’s just but a dog and a mutt at that,
While glued to the TV he patiently sat.

The second plane hit it was unreal to see,
Blind to mans nature how I wished I were he.
Concrete canyons are but now spacious sky,
Her children weep for the parents who died.

Assault on our nation religion one cause,
In God We Trust good reason to pause.
With twisted minds on death hell bent,
Dramatic it was but not heaven sent.

Abused was God’s name taken in vain,
Cruel acts of terror are never ordained.
Planned so well that strike to our heart,
If it's war they seek then just let it start.
