Poem For Sale
Poem for sale,
I need a fix,
Poem for sale,
I don’t do tricks.
Poem for sale,
I need a drink,
Poem for sale,
It's not what you think.
Poem for sale,
I need a joint,
Poem for sale,
You don’t get the point.
Poem for sale,
I need to get high,
Poem for sale,
The question is why?
I have spent days or even years going back to the same old poems trying to make them rhyme even though I know poetry doesn't need to. My theory is that if a poem has impact, a message that's heartfelt and is meaningful to someone if only to yourself, then the rhyming shouldn't matter at all. I am obsessed with trying to make things rhyme and for me there's no rhyme or reason I reason with rhyme, that is, until today.
